I'm Back!
I have been rather inactive of late, and I apologize, although it wasn’t entirely my fault.. Apparently low blood pressure (80 over 50, if you care) is not a good thing. All those ads concerning how high blood pressure is the silent killer and not a word about low. As a result I have been sticking fairly close to my sofa, since to stand is to be, at the very least, slightly dizzy. At the very worst is looking through a dizzy grey haze with only small pinholes of vision, but that wasn’t too often, and did pass fairly quickly. Just had to make sure a chair, DH or a counter top was handy to lean on. Why was this happening, you may well ask. I know I did. A visit to the cardiologist indicated my heart meds have become a little too high for my body weight. You see, (confession time) I used to be a large lady. A very large lady. Over the course of a year and a half, I have lost half of my body weight. Apparently though, it was good I was big, since I had the weight to lose during the operations and treatments. So there – big is good for something. So my meds are being adjusted and I should be fine very shortly.
In other news, my oldest DD turned 18 this week, which is legal in Canada, and of course waited till midnight the day before her birthday and went with her friends to the bar. I have to admit I found her resulting illness for her birthday quite humorous. Amazing how mean a parent can be about something that is self induced. And before two weeks go by, the younger DD and my DH will both add another year to their ages, so I have promised all three a special surf and turf dinner for them. While I threaten it will be a tuna sandwich with beef gravy, I am actually going to pick up lobster and steak and do it up in fine style. With my seafood loving bunch, that will take care of birthday meals for the whole tribe all in one fell swoop.
And that’s about it for out here. How has 2007 started out for you? Hopefully all are well and safe with the weird weather patterns that have been happening.

Hey! I remember you! Welcome back. I'm glad they've worked out the trouble with your meds. Anything that screws up your blood pressure is worrying.
18 in AB, huh? It's 19 here, though I think most people I knew were through getting drunk by then and anyway, it's no fun when you're legal :-)

Glad you are back! And glad they are working on your meds. Heck of a way to go through weight loss last year, huh?

Hi Survey! So good to see you back with us. *HUGS*
Glad to hear that it's just a matter of adjusting the dose of your meds.
Wow, lots of birthdays. How wonderful of you to cook them all surf 'n turf.

Survey's back!!!!!!
I used to be a low blood pressure type (it runs in my family) but menopause cured it. I guess hot flashes are good for something.
Lol at the tuna sandwich with gravy for surf n turf! I think I will borrow that concept, if I may.
Bad doctor. He shoulda paid better attention!

Hey Survey! Glad to hear they figured out the med thing. My BP tends to sit on the low side most of the time but not to the point where I have problems with it.
The drinking age is 18 in Quebec and 19 in Ontario. My son loved living on the border. *grin*
I like the way you celebrate birthdays! Could you talk to my Mom?

Oh, it's so good to see everyone and visit your blogs again.
DD survived her birthday week and is astounded at how much she spent.
