Last of the year

Well, I guess it's official. Christmas is over. The last present has been unwrapped and the turkey is resting in turkey pot pies in the freezer (just whose idea was it to get such a large bird this year?). The whole leftover quota has finally been dealt with. New Year's Eve tomorrow, and I will likely just go to bed early. As a general rule, I've found that when I get up the next day New Year has arrived whether I was up at midnight or not, so my presence doesn't seem necessary.

I hope Santa brought you all you desired, as I know he was certainly good to me. Even if the lottery tickets in my sock were not winners the whole Christmas was. And the girls were happy with their gifts and even DH admitted to a good day.

May you have a Happy 2007 and peace and happiness to all!

Finally

Oh my goodness, where has the time gone? It doesn't seem like it could be over two weeks since I last updated! Miles the cat has arrived and is settling in quite nicely. He does, however, have a bad habit of sitting on my lap and purring around 2 in the afternoon, which, of course, causes me to doze and prevents some of the many important things I plan to do from being completed. (It's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Youngest DD finally decided to get a hair cut. Her hair was rapidly approaching her waist, so she had approx. 10" clipped and sent to Locks of Love where it will be used for wigs for children with cancer. Then the rest was cut and trimmed, and when all was said and done, her hair is now shoulder length. I'm very pround of her for her contribution. I'm also glad she went this route and didn't have her head shaved. While I understand the reasons for those who do get their heads shaved, having lost my own hair once means being bald stands as something to be avoided, whether by choice or not.

I will hopefully be able to finish my Christmas shopping next week, and then we will put the tree up. Next week will be busy.
