I L.O.V.E. TV

What a great time of year. The new fall shows are beginning and while I have missed some, there looks to be promise in what I have seen.

Smith - Ray Liotta can do a criminal in his sleep. This one could be interesting with the juxtapostion of criminal and family man. And what's with his wife - she seems to be on parole for something and seems suspicious of something.

60 Sunset - Apart from too long a title, the opening was okay, so I will give it a shot for the next episode. I'm not totally sure yet.

Thursdays - goodness they have filled them up. Grey's Anatomy starts tonight, Survivor is on and CSI is a Thursday staple. I am grateful for the time shift option with a satalitte dish.

Sunday - Desperate Housewives comes back this Sunday, and Amazing Race is on.

Dancing with the Stars - Mario and Jerry? Who would have thought?

Anything looking particularly good to you?

I Hope You're Warm

It is 3 degrees C here. That is about 36F. That is cold. And it is raining and has been for the last two days. I have the heat on in the house and the weather report says it will likely turn to snow through the night. The only good news is that is will probably not stay. It snowed about 4 inches in the mountains last night. I.am.not.ready.for.this. I want more summer, or at least a warm fall.

Because of the rains, DH has been home with me for the last few days. By at home, I mean under my feet. Having sent him off to town just now for onions, celery and puddings, I am running out of things for him to do. It's not that it's bad, having him home, it's just that when you are not used to it, and have a particular routine you sort of follow for each day, you find yourself getting annoyed when someone else interferes with it.

The kids bought themselves a huge bag of shrimp to eat while they watched a movie the other night. They ended up not eating it, so now I have to do something with the shrimp. I am thinking a white sauce with shrimp over penne pasta, but I need some onions and celery, which should be here soon. Cold weather makes me cook way too much. So far this week I have made bread (8 loaves)and minestroni soup. Anyone else got any good cold weather foods?
