Gobble, Gobble, Gobble

This coming weekend (Oct 9) is the Canadian Thanksgiving. I may not be able to eat all of the foods I cook, but I sure as heck will cook them (and have dinner over early on Sunday so I can watch all those great new Sunday shows). Got the butter basted turkey in the freezer and the sweet potatoes on hand, a bag of cranberries to make sauce from - lots of pickles and tomato juice. I love the big turkey dinners and so do my kids. We won't know till a little later this week if a few friends will be coming by for the meal also, but there will be plenty for all. Then Monday will be leftovers, which in it's own way, is just as good as the original dinner. Then Tuesday will be out 19th wedding anniversary.

Once these milestones have all gone by, I will be going for an appointment on the 16th, and I will make a decision about that PEG thing. Not like I have a whole lot of choice as to whether it happens, just about the timing. But thank you to all who gave me words of encouragement. They always seem to be there at just the right time for me. I love you all.

Comments:
I really do miss family Thanksgiving dinners. My family will be getting together this weekend to celebrate. Wish I could be there *pout* I love turkey with gravey and roast potatoes. My mom used to make the most delicious roast potatoes. Of course, whenever I tried to make them, they never did turn out quite like mom's.

19 years. Wow. Congrats Survey and I hope your evening out will be a really nice one.

One step at a time sweetie!

*BIG BIG HUGS* We all love you very much.

I miss double Thanksgiving. As an American who grew up in Canada we always had T-Day twice! Every kid should have double Thanksgivings. I remember trying to talk up double Christmas one year but was told that no, Canadians and Americans celebrate Christmas on the same day. Bummer!

We had different family at each T-Day dinner - but never ate roast potatoes, Nookie. Thanksgiving = mashed potatoes.

Survey, fill your plate with everything! That's what I'd do. And taste everything - even if it is just licking the spoon/fork/finger! It's your feast so you get to decide how to enjoy it.

Happy Anniversay too! How are you going to celebrate that? Tom and I alternate, sometimes we go out to a show or something, sometimes we just stay home. Depends on our mood.

*Hugs Survey & Nookie*

Mmmm... turkey!!! *yummy*

Happy Anniversary!!! We forgot ours again this year. It was September 14th. It's been 16 years + 7 that we dated/lived together first.

{{{hugs}}}

We never had mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving. Mind you, I'm a true spud lover so mashed would have been great also. I do love roast potatoes though.

Mmmm...I love Thanksgiving! The food is just sooooo perfect!

But what matters is who is around your table. I hope you have a wonderful weekend full of thanks and love!

Aw, sounds wonderful! Get that turkey thawing soon. And early happy anniversary!

Good luck at your pending Dr.s apptointment. *hugs*

Survey, you have incoming email.

Happy Thanksgiving, even if it is 6 weeks early. *grin*

I hope you have a wonderful weekend, Survey. *hugs*

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll be there. What time?

Hey-any leftovers?

LOL Puffy. I was just coming in to post the same question.

*holds out plate for a leftover turkey sammich*

Happy Thanksgiving, Survey!

*gets in line behind Nookie*

Cold turkey sandwiches are the food of the gods.

Happy Thanksgiving!

*smooch*

Enough left over for cold turkey buns with a scoop of dressing and your choice of mayo or fresh cranberry sauce. State your preference. And there's some trifle left for afters. Hold out your plates!

The kids tell me I can't give away the left over sweet potatoes, so don't ask, please.

No cranberry sauce for me, but I love trifle!

Happy Anniversary Survey! Hope you have a wonderful celebration, even if it's just between the two of you.

I have to agree about the Monday leftovers. I woke up at 7am on Monday morning even though I could have slept in because I was so hungry for a toasted turkey sammich.

Good luck on the 16th. I'll be sending good thoughts westward for you.

*hugs*

Oh, yum! We had grilled turkey sammiches for lunch today. I like to put some stuffing in mine and have mayo on the side for dipping.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

*hugs* and good thoughts for the 16th.
