Winding down
There's only a few marshmallow peanuts and a couple little tootsie rolls left of the candy. The kids cried when King Kong died and I keep wondering what on earth Jack Black has that could put him in a movie. A real plus was managing to get the place cleaned up before the fisherman got home. Wouldn't want evidence of our snackage, now would we?
It was a great weekend.
Oh yeah - I got a set of four of those solar lawn lamps and stuck them out on the lawn by our walk. Now if it would only get dark quicker so I can see just how bright they are and how they look.

Well here's a downer. I didn't like King Kong-too long.
I don't like the solar lights-too dull.
And I'm sick.

I thought King Kong was beautifully filmed, but I guess knowing the story so well changed how much I enjoyed it. Plus there were just a few too many weird dinosaur fights. A giant gorilla fighting dinosaurs on the edge of a 500 ft cliff just does nothing for me.
Enjoy your solar lights. Many people seem to have those now, but I don't like them. I'm a fan of the dark. When it is supposed to be dark, I want it to be dark. If I need light I'll turn on a bright one.
The great thing about living out in the sticks is that when it gets dark you can really see the stars! I love the night sky - and even a small amount of light can reduce what you see.

I agree with Swami, King Kong was just to drawn out, to many dino fights, to many huge ass bugs, just too much.
I liked the original King Kong, but walked away from this one feeling a little ewwwww....
We were thinking about getting some solar lights. My parents had some years ago, and they were nice for the walkway.

It never dawned on me when they picked it that the girls wouldn't know the ape dies. So I guess this version wasn't really for me, but them. But it really was way too long.
Feel better soon Puffy.

I waited the longest time to see king kong because I knew I'd be crying at the end. Jack Black sucked in that movie and some of the dinosaur chase scenes were the worst I have ever seen. WORST!! They may have done that on purpose but it still sucked. And, way too long.
I'll take some of those left-over marshmallow thingies but I'll definitely pass on the tootsie rolls LOL.
I've always wanted to put those solar lamps in my garden but I'm too cheap to pay for them.
Glad you girls had a fun weekend!

Based on the solar lights that I've seen being REALLY dim (like, I trip over sidewalks still), we are going with low voltage. They are a little more expensive, but in the long run I think we'll be happier. I bet some models of solar lights are different, though. Hopefully yours are bright enough for your liking.
