Grey Day

There is a raw wind from the north today and the grey clouds scudding across the sky would, in December, be full of snow. At least so far there have only been some cold rain showers. So on a day like this it is time to stay inside with occasional peeks out the window. It’s hard to believe yesterday was 24 C and today is 2 C. That would translate to about 78F and 34F for the non Celsius users.

So in the interests of staying inside and warm, I opened a Christmas present today. (Of course I unwrapped it at Christmas, I just hadn’t opened the box yet.) It is an official CSI Forensic Facial Reconstruction Kit. There is a skeleton head, depth pins and clay to create the features. As I build it I am thinking I know which one of the four missing person pictures it is supposed to represent, but I will finish it before I look up the answer to confirm my guess. Since I have been getting bugged about unused Christmas presents, this is at least a start and my next project will be to set up the rock polisher I got for 2004. Now where did I put those chunks of amethyst DH brought back from Ontario?

There is a 12 pound ham in the oven, baking in Coca-Cola, and supper will be ready around 6. Potato salad or mashed? Vegetable suggestions? I’m thinking there will be leftovers.

Comments:
Wow, what a drop in temperature! It has been cold and rainy here, also.

This CSI kit - is it like a puzzle or more like a sculpting type thing? I guess I'm asking if this is something anyone could do, or you have to have some type of talent/skill?

I would go with potato salad. No suggestions for the veggies, but you can send any leftovers my way. *grin*

Oooooh, I want that CSI kit. I have seen it at the stores and almost bought it a couple of times. But then I wondered what I would do with a clay head once I finished it.

mashed potatoes and green beans or peas or brussel sprouts or corn or spinach. I can't pick a veggie, I love them all and don't want to descriminate.

Hi Survey! I just found you here. Welcome to blogging!

*smooch*

Can I link you?

Arkie-anyone could do it - you are just putting clay flesh onto the skeleton. Unlike real sculpture where you have to take away the parts that aren't part of your picture.

Carey-mashed and green beans, cucumbers & red pepper slices won out, only because I have one brussel sprout hater and didn't want two cooked veggies.

MM-Thank you. *smooch back* Of course you can.

You sure get some interesting and unusual presents. Lots better than socks and underwear, isn't it?

That CSI kit sound really cool. I've never seen those before.

I'm glad you didn't make peas. Peas are horrid little things.

Yay you started a blog!

The rock polisher got my attention. I'm currently buying rings to (over)compensate for all my jewelry being stolen.

Welcome to blogland. It's very nice here.

Hi Survey, nice to see you! Welcome!

Veggies are gross. That is all.

Well, I missed a hot dinner last night but I am here today for the left over, obligatory ham sammich.

I think you shoud make a head out of mashed potatoes.

I tried to make a head out of the mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, it looked like the wrong head.

Darnit! Did I miss dinner?
